Randewood
Dual Seat Urban Furniture

CHALLENGE
01
Traditionally, chairs have been both symbolic and functional. The challenge was to design something that works as an everyday seat while also holding aesthetic and cultural value.
02
The seat had to be made from strong material to withstand up to 1 ton of weight and support two people simultaneously.
03
Incorporating interior lighting as both a functional and decorative element suitable for parks and public spaces.
04
Designing a structure that could be produced efficiently while maintaining craftsmanship and quality.
SOLUTION
The Randewood Dual Seat addressed these challenges through an integrated design approach that combined strength, ergonomics, and aesthetics. Russian wood was selected for its durability and ability to withstand loads of up to one ton, ensuring reliability for dual seating. The ergonomic form was carefully designed to support natural posture and provide comfort, while the incorporation of interior lighting added both functionality at night and a distinctive aesthetic value for public spaces such as parks and urban plazas. The seat’s unique yet simple form reinforced its symbolic character while remaining practical for everyday use. Finally, a structured production process—from frame-building to reinforcement and finishing—ensured the piece could be produced efficiently without compromising craftsmanship or design quality.
